Winning IS Everything

Few of us have felt the exhilaration of winning a gold medal at the Olympics, or winning the Super Bowl, or the Masters, or something similar. But I can say, for myself, even though never having won any of the above, I have felt an equally sweet thrill of victory. Yes, winning is everything. Nothing feels better. Trying, really, really trying, in an extremely focused way, is absolutely mind blowing. Reality changes. Time and space and dimension all mold and bend and expand to the will and desire of the aspirant. There is nothing like it.

Any kind of activity would likely work. Writing a symphony, making a cake, or a dress. A high school track event, or a piano recital, or acting in a play. Maybe even painting houses, or plumbing, or scrubbing floors. Doing it right, doing it to the best of your ability, that's really the key. And if you keep trying, keep practicing, it will get better and better.

It may be easier, though, to focus on something exciting, or difficult, or complex. To lose oneself in the dance, the dance of life, really, is an amazing sensation. You feel yourself floating, flying, like Superman, changing nature with brute force of will effortlessly, perfectly, beautifully.

It is over the space of time it takes to experience the process of dancing, charging, motionless that victory is achieved. This is the juice of life, the nectar of the gods. Victory over the mind, victory over the body, victory over the other dancing, charging molecules around you. Such a sense of freedom, of light. Such suchness.
